Every day-sometimes multiple times a day-our team is out on the road recovering food and household items from generous businesses, grocery stores, and suppliers across Ontario. Instead of letting this perfectly good food and useful goods go to waste, we step in to give them a second purpose: supporting local charities and community groups doing vital work on the frontlines.
In 2023 alone, Lionhearts redirected nearly $8 million worth of food and household items to local non-profits, shelters, and meal programs-at no cost to the organizations receiving them.
This recovery program is about more than logistics. It's about creating a ripple effect of dignity, sustainability, and community care. By bridging the gap between surplus and scarcity, we help agencies stretch their resources further, reduce landfill waste, and ensure that nothing valuable is left behind when so many are still in need.
From large-scale grocery donations to small but meaningful pallet drops, every contribution we recover makes a difference. And thanks to our dedicated partners and volunteers, this work continues-quietly, consistently, and almost every single day of the year.
While our mission spans across Ontario, the way we serve each city is as unique as the community itself. Want to know what food and household good recovery looks like in your area? Visit your city's page to see the local partnerships, stats, and stories that are shaping lives every day.
