Lionhearts Inc. has received an anonymous donation which will fully fund the lease of a London warehouse for the next two years. This donation will allow Lionhearts to expand its food and household goods recovery operation in the London area and set the stage for further growth.

“We’re thankful for the incredible generosity of this donor, and for the support of Mayor Josh Morgan and Councillor Corrine Rahman in achieving this important next step,” said Travis Blackmore, Lionhearts Founder and CEO. “We look forward to expanding our support to the many amazing frontline agencies that call London home, as well as the many vulnerable neighbours they care for.”

Lionhearts Inc. is on a mission to eradicate hunger and homelessness, restoring hope and dignity everywhere we serve. Lionhearts, a registered charity, operates food and household goods recovery operations in London, as well as Kingston and Ottawa, where teams of volunteers and staff pick up surplus food and goods from a variety of retailers and outlets across town. Those items are then redistributed to frontline agencies at no cost to them. In 2024, Lionhearts recovered and redistributed over $10 million worth of food and household goods in Kingston, Ottawa, and London.

“I want to thank the anonymous donor whose generosity has enabled Lionhearts Inc. to establish a dedicated warehouse here in London,” said London Mayor Josh Morgan. “Since arriving in 2024, Lionhearts has become a vital partner to dozens of local charities, helping ensure families and individuals have access to essential food and household goods. This new facility will only strengthen that work and expand their ability to support our community. We’re grateful for their commitment to London, our residents, and proud to see their impact continue to grow.”

Lionhearts has been serving London since August of 2024, supplying new, still-in-the-box food and household goods from generous local businesses to over 40 local charities, including the Northwest London Community Resource Centre, Ark Aid Mission, the Humane Society of London and Middlesex, and many more. We also recover food from Canada Life Place following London Knights hockey games and other events, as well as the local Best Western Lamplighters hotel. It’s expected that Lionhearts will have recovered and redistributed over $1 million worth of food and household goods in London by the end of 2025.

Up until recently, the sorting and redistribution of goods was completed at Gateway Church or via special events such as a recent sorting party at Western University completed in conjunction with the University Students’ Council.

The 3,000 square foot facility, which will not be open to the public, is expected to be operational in early December.

"Lionhearts has been a tremendous support to the Northwest London Resource Centre since their arrival in London in August 2024. Their consistent donations of hygiene items, snacks, non-perishable food, and baby formula have helped us meet critical needs for families and individuals in our community. Their partnership has strengthened our ability to respond quickly and compassionately to residents facing financial and food insecurity, and we are truly grateful for the positive impact they have made in Northwest London.”-Amani Radhaa, Northwest London Resource Centre

“I want to express our deepest gratitude to Lionhearts for their selfless dedication in collecting, sorting, and sharing vital donations with organizations across the city—including ours—which has enabled us to serve over 1,000 meals a day and strengthen connections with both our volunteers and community members. Lionhearts is a faithful and heartful partner whose commitment to building genuine relationships and delivering impactful support in every community they serve makes us proud to collaborate with them as they expand into London.”-Sarah Campbell, Ark Aid Mission

"We would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations and sincere thanks to Lionhearts for the incredible work they are doing across multiple cities. Their commitment to rescuing surplus food and household items and distributing it thoughtfully to frontline organizations is both impactful and inspiring. Managing food recovery on this scale is no small task, and Lionhearts has taken on this responsibility with care, organization and a deep sense of community. We truly appreciate their collaborative approach in uplifting partner organizations and we are proud to stand alongside Lionhearts in serving our community.”-Amna Saleem, Halal Food Bank Canada
