Food and Household Goods Recovery

Recovering More. Wasting Less. Serving Kingston.

In Kingston, our food and household good recovery program runs almost every single day of the year. We partner with grocery stores, restaurants, suppliers, and caring businesses to rescue perfectly good items that would otherwise go to waste.

In 2023, Lionhearts recovered a significant portion of the $8 million worth of goods redistributed across Ontario-right here in Kingston. These recovered items are provided at no cost to local non-profits, shelters, and community groups so they can spend their limited resources on other urgent needs.

Every loaf of bread, box of produce, or household item we save helps keep waste out of landfills and puts real help into the hands of our neighbours.

Make an Impact in Your Community.

Kingston's food and household good recovery program depends on the generosity of local partners and volunteers. Whether it's driving a truck, sorting donations, or making a financial gift, there are many ways to help us keep good food and goods moving to where they're needed most.

Your involvement means less waste, stronger local charities, and more dignity for our neighbours. Together, we can make sure every recovered item finds its way into the hands of someone who needs it.
