What exactly does Lionhearts do?

The short answer is: quite a bit!

What started in Kingston in 2014 with 800 pounds of rescued strawberries has grown into an organization serving communities in Kingston, Ottawa and London. Along the way, thousands of volunteers, donors, businesses and community partners have joined us in our mission to eradicate hunger and homelessness.

And sometimes, it’s easier to show you than tell you.

You’ll see some of the food we recover, the places it goes, and the people who help make it happen.

Because the truth is, Lionhearts doesn’t do this work alone.

Every day, businesses choose to donate good food and household goods rather than see them go to waste. Volunteers give their time to pick up, sort, prepare and deliver those donations. Frontline agencies put those resources directly into the hands of people who need them.

And donors help keep the whole thing moving: keeping our vehicles on the road, our warehouses operating, and our teams able to recover and redistribute more.

It all adds up to something pretty incredible.
