Did you know we’ve been picking up Little Caesars end-of-day pizzas in Kingston since 2015?
Six days a week, we have volunteers visiting our local pizzerias to redistribute that cheesy, tasty, HOT-N-READY® goodness, as well as Crazy Bread® and other generous donations. The food is then redistributed to our programs like The Embassy and to other frontline agencies who can use a hand.
That sort of partnership is possible thanks to the generous support of our local Little Caesars franchisee, and just in time for the holidays they're helping us out yet again in another big way!
Enjoy Crazy Bread and Help Lionhearts Inc.!
On December 13 and 14, 100% of crazy bread sales at Kingston area Little Caesars locations will benefit the Lionhearts Inc. Student Food Box Program! Between December 13 and 21, you will also have the option to round up your purchase, with proceeds benefitting our programming.
In addition, our local Little Caesars franchisees will be matching all donations made up to $5,000, AND our generous friends at the Ritchie Fund and the Rotary Club of Kingston’s Youth Development Fund will also match donations up to $6,412.79! That means your donations up to $5,000 will be tripled! Lionhearts will also be on hand to provide more information about our programming and collect any direct donations you wish to make.
So, place an order of Crazy Bread® and you’ll be helping in the fight against hunger in Kingston. Round up your order, and you’ll be helping hope rise for local families in need. And when you make a donation, your impact will be tripled up to $5,000, delivering more hope to local families this holiday season.
Little Caesars' two Kingston locations can be found at 656 Gardiners Rd. in the RioCan Centre, or at 507 Princess St. near Princess and University Ave.
What is the Student Food Box?
Twice a month, volunteers gather at our Community Food Redistribution Warehouse to pack boxes filled with fresh, nutritious food. These boxes are delivered to 250 families with primary or secondary school students in their households, helping to ease the pressure of grocery costs and ensure children have the nourishment they need to learn, grow, and thrive.
The Student Food Box Program is a true community collaboration between Lionhearts Inc. and the Rotary Clubs in Kingston, with major funding from the United Way of KFL&A, the Kinsmen Club of Kingston, and the Community Foundation for Kingston & Area. We’re also proud to acknowledge the support of supplier partners like Burnbrae Farms, who help us to fill the boxes on a regular basis.
When you "buy a box" through a monthly donation, you're not just filling a family's pantry-you're helping a student focus in class, a parent breathe a little easier, and a community come together to support its youngest members.
